2006 Visionary Awards

For the past two years, industry leaders from around the world have been recognized at Symantec's annual Vision conferences for their innovative use of technology in achieving business value. At the different Vision events in the Asia-Pacific region in 2005, a total of six Visionaries were recognized. And on September 5, the first Visionaries for the Asia-Pacific region were announced.

At the Vision event in Seoul, Korea on September 12, four additional Symantec Visionaries were recognized by Symantec Chief Technology Officer Mark Bregman and Asia Pacific and Japan Senior Vice President Bill Robbins: Kyunghee Kim, team leader for Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs; Joongwon Kwon, managing director of business planning at LIG Insurance Co., Ltd; Kangwon Seo, the CIO at Korea Broadcasting System; and Jinseol Yang, the CIO at Samsung Life Insurance Co., Ltd.

More than 70 nominations worldwide have been submitted by the Symantec sales and services organizations in 2006. The nominations for the Korea Vision event were evaluated based on technology innovation, business value impact, and involvement of Symantec partners and services.

“The challenges facing IT organizations today are growing in scope and difficulty,” said Mark Bregman, chief technology officer, Symantec. “The Visionaries for the Korea region are true technology thought leaders, achieving tangible results in lowering costs, ensuring business continuity, and improving quality of services.”
